Another Baer Baby on the Way!

On October 12, 2015, I took a pregnancy test and found out we were going to have another bundle of joy! It was so much more exciting than last time when I found out I was "possibly" pregnant with Ellison from a blood test! After four months of trying on Femara, (the fertility meds I got pregnant with Ellison with) the Lord was gracious and blessed us with another baby due June 21, 2016, our anniversary! Although four months seems like a lot shorter amount of time than the two years it took to conceive Ellison, the Lord taught me new things. I unknowingly had put my trust in the meds since I knew they worked last time and when I didn't ovulate the first couple months, I found myself running to the Lord. He knew that's what I needed and was just continuing to gently teach me. The Lord showed me, or rather reminded me, that it is He who opens the womb, on the last month my doctor was allowing me to stay on the meds, the Lord chose to give us another child. We are so thankful that the Lord has closen to entrust us with another blessing!

We told Steve's parents first since we told my parents first with Ellison. We were in Steve's work garage, chatting, when Steve said "Yea, we need some major prayer, we found out that we are going to have to see a fertility specialist if the meds don't work this month and we aren't sure we want to take that route." His parents were shaking their head saying a few things then Steve said "Thankfully we won't have to do that because Sarah's already pregnant." It took them a minute to understand what Steve was saying because of how he worded it, then Mama Baer said "Wait, did you say she's already pregnant??" Then we both said yes with tears in our eyes. They got so excited and hugged us. It was so sweet and exciting!

We then told my parents by having them over for dinner. We were sitting in the living room and I said I wanted to show them some videos of Ellison on the Apple TV. They weren't REALLY paying attention after showing a few then I scrolled to this picture:
My dad kept looking at it, not sure what to think. (He said later, he thought it was from Rachel's pregnancy announcement, haha!) We finally said "umm look at that picture!!!!" Then it sunk in and they were super excited! We facetimed Mache and showed her the picture on the screen. It was fun!

We also told the Elmer's and Beckler's. I had to hold it in for a little bit while talking to Sarah before Steve and Jonathan walked over. They were looking at basement plans with an architect. Finally, after talking for a few minutes, Steve said "Well, we will be needing at least 3 bedrooms in the basement for the baby coming in June." They were so excited and there were lots of hugs!

We planned to go spend the night over at the Jones' house to tell them. I had hung out with Lauren that week and it was so hard not to tell her! Steve and I really wanted to tell them together. We brought Ellison over in her "Big Sister" shirt and I just knew Lauren would notice it right away. I was holding Ellison so right when I set her down in the highchair, she saw the shirt and asked what it said. She was so excited! Caleb was upstairs putting Ava to bed, so he came down and we ate dinner. At that point, Lauren knew so we were just waiting for Caleb to notice Ellisons Big Sister shirt. Lauren finally had to say "Caleb, look at her shirt!" Haha! So funny!

It was so fun telling all of our friends and family. We were obviously over the moon excited when we found out with Ellison, but it was kind of strange because we didn't know "for sure" but were so excited we just started telling everyone. Nothing special, but such huge news so that was okay! It was fun doing actual announcements this time!

We are so excited to find out what we are having! Hopefully it will be the first week of February. We kind of think boy since the heartbeat was super high at our 9 week appointment (183bpm). We have the theory that it is high at first with boys then goes down for the rest of pregnancy. With Ellison, it was low at first then high the rest of the pregnancy. It was the same for our friends, so if this baby's heartbeat is low on Monday at my appointment, we will for sure be thinking boy! We will be so happy with either of course! :)

Well, I will try and update after my doctors appointment on Monday!

Here's our first ultrasound of our little bean:
